CALL FOR WORKS:

AUDIENCE is an international sound art festival to be presented in a cinema hall in New Delhi, India, in December 2007.
A New York preview of selected works is scheduled for September 2007.

We are now accepting submissions for audio pieces with an emphasis on narrative, temporal and spatial experimentation in sound composition without visual accompaniment. We are especially interested in artists that treat cinema as a distinct form for the organization of time. Accepted formats include:

DVD (Quad, 5.1, 7.1) (DVD-V or DVD-A)
CD (Stereo)
Data CD/DVD (ProTools or Ardour sessions. 8-channel works only.)
Audio Tape (Quad only)

CD and DVD submissions will not be returned.
Contact the curators if you would like to submit historic works for consideration, or to arrange a studio visit.

You may submit stereo samples of prior works or works in progress, but the final work must be in quadraphonic or a surround format. Stereo recordings will NOT be presented.
Octophonic submissions are welcome but will be converted to 7.1 for cinema presentation.

TENTATIVE DEADLINES:

Submissions are due by June 1st, 2007. Late submissions will be kept for consideration in future AUDIENCE events. Artists will be notified in August if your piece has been selected for this initial AUDIENCE festival.

DEADLINE UPDATE May 25, 2007:

In all likelihood, the festival in New Delhi will be rescheduled to March 2008, to coincide with the 10th Anniversary of Khoj International Artists Association. Given this change of schedule, we will accept submissions for the New Delhi event until July 14th; however, we strongly encourage artists to send sample submissions and expressions of interest by June 1st, as the New York event will still occur in September 2007.
